Privacy Policy

Updated September 2, 2026

This policy describes how CareerMark handles information when you create an account and use the product. It is a notice, not a sale of your data. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

To run CareerMark we store what you enter: your account (name, email), targeting and profile, people you file, goals, logs, calendar items, weekly reviews, chats with Mark, and similar career-file content. We also keep basic technical data needed to sign you in and keep the service secure (for example, session information). When you use the product we record whether the session is on a phone or a desktop (screen size and pointer type, not a fingerprint of your device). Feedback you send through the in-app form is stored with that same device class so we can see what broke where.

How we use it

We use your information to provide CareerMark to you — save your file, show your plan, run Mark, and keep you signed in.

We also use aggregated, de-identified usage — never your name, email, or individual file — to:

  • improve CareerMark;
  • describe overall results in our own marketing (for example, how people who finish a 12-Week Plan tend to do in the app); and
  • surface in-product guidance based on patterns across users, so you can see what tends to work here.

Mark, the AI career coach

CareerMark includes Mark, an AI career coach, on the trial and on a paid plan. When you chat with Mark we store those messages so you can see your history, and so we can improve how Mark answers over time.

We review those chats in de-identified form: no name, email, or account ID. Contact details, links, and dollar amounts are stripped. We use that to see what people ask, where answers fall short, and to improve response quality. We do not use Mark chats to advertise to you. We do not sell them.

Optional thumbs up or down on a reply is stored the same way and helps us see which answers were useful.

We do not use your private career file in advertisements. We do not sell personal information.

Who sees it

You see your own file. We use hosting and database providers to operate the app. They process data only to provide that infrastructure, under their terms with us. We do not sell or rent your contacts, income, or goals to third parties.

If you turn on sharing in Settings, a CareerMark career coach may see your file so they can help you in one-on-one sessions. That option stays off until you turn it on.

Your choices

You can edit or delete goals, people, and other items in the product. In Settings you can turn sharing with a career coach on or off. You can close your account by contacting us; we will delete your career file from the live product and drop you from future aggregate extracts. De-identified statistics already published cannot be unwound person-by-person.

Retention and security

We keep your file while your account is open. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

CareerMark is intended for adults. Do not create an account if you are under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date above. Continued use after an update means you have been notified of the new notice. The version you acknowledged at account creation is recorded on your account.
